Renowned comedian and actor Marty Ingels died in October 21,
2015 in Los Angeles suffering from stroke. He was 79 years old. Marty Ingels
was married to renowned actress Shirley Jones for 40 years. Marty Ingels died
in the Tarzana neighborhood.
Martin Ingels was born on March 6, 1936 in New York City. After
finishing school, he joined the army. He went to California with a view to
becoming an actor. He married Shirley Jones in 1977 and became stepfather to
three sons. Martin Ingels and Shirley separated for six months in 1999, but then
got back together.
Marty Ingels most significant role was 'John Astin' in “I'm
Dickens, He's Fenster”(1962). Marty Ingels formed his own talent agency called
Ingels, Inc. Marty Ingels did voice work for hundreds of cartoons, commercials
and video games. Marty Ingels voiced Pac-Man in the 1982 animated series. "Shirley
& Marty: An Unlikely Love Story," was published in 1990.
Marty Ingels told about him and Shirley Jones, “I was a
Jewish kid from Brooklyn and she was Miss America. A lot of people never got
that. But Shirley always did.”
“He often drove me crazy, but there’s not a day I won’t miss
him and love him to my core,” Shirley Jones said in the statement.
